What makes a comic 'As new'?

"As new" is the highest grade we give at MyHero. It means the comic has been read once at most — often not at all — and shows no spine roll, no corner blunting, no colour breaks and no sticker residue.

We check every copy under daylight and photograph the front, back and spine so you can see exactly what you're getting. If there's even a faint stress mark, we downgrade to Excellent and call it out in the listing.

Why does this matter? Because condition is everything in collectables. A comic listed as "As new" should arrive looking like it just came off the shelf. If it doesn't, our Buyer Protection and 30-day returns have you covered.

Sellers: the better you store your comics, the closer to this grade they get. Bagged, boarded and kept flat is the golden rule.
