Grading standards
Every issue is graded in person against the same scale, then photographed exactly as it is.
Mint
Untouched. Sharp corners, flat spine, no tanning. Usually straight from a subscription sleeve.
Near Mint
Read once, carefully. At most a single tiny spine tick, no creases, colours full strength.
Very Good
Clearly read. Light spine wear, minor corner rounding, maybe a faint subscription crease.
Good
Well read but complete and sound. Visible creasing, some tanning, no missing pages.
Reader
Loved to bits. Tears, tape or heavy wear — priced to be read, not stored.
What we check
- Cover gloss, tanning and colour strength
- Spine ticks, roll and staple tension
- Corner and edge wear
- Interior page completeness — including posters, pull-outs and free gifts
- Water, smoke and odour damage
- Previous repairs, tape or restoration
Missing gifts and inserts
If a weekly is missing its free gift or a magazine is missing its supplement, we say so on the listing and price accordingly. We never quietly downgrade a description after sale.
